January 2, 2001 - A-Courier of Nashville, an integrated pick-up and delivery service organization, has merged with Crosstown Courier, Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The combined company now operates as Crosstown Courier and performs more than 500 runs per day throughout Middle Tennessee. Crosstown has 53 employees, including 40 drivers and an administrative staff of 13.

Prior to the merger, A-Courier's customer base included businesses in Nashville and Williamson County as well as Shelbyville, McMinnville and Smyrna. In addition to traditional courier service, A-Courier provided warehousing, medical, legal and cargo delivery, and service to just-in-time manufacturers.

Crosstown Courier's business consisted of traditional courier service for businesses mainly located in downtown Nashville, with significant sales coming from music and entertainment related customers in and around Music Row.

At the same time of the Crosstown merger, Evatt bought back a portion of A-Courier that he had sold to New York-based Dispatch Management Services Corporation (DMS) in 1998.

Crosstown Courier is located in Nashville at 410 Airpark Center Drive.
